Behind Juno Rebis: The Great Work and Ultimate Goal of The Underground Club

With a name deriving from the Roman goddess Juno (Hera) and the final, great work of alchemists, Juno Rebis is the end goal of The Perpetual Cabaret Players as a passion project. While one half of The PCP and The Underground Club, is to delight, entertain and inspire people to engage with new communities, interests, and media, the second half of the project is far more spiritual; self-acceptance, compassion, and inner peace of both my own masculine and feminine traits that have been excessively scrutinised over the years. Both by myself and others. Whether that was when I was living my life as a boy, growing up bullied for being overly feminine, or now as an out and proud trans woman facing people "critical" about my transition, expression and in extreme cases, existence.

The splintering of these traits into separate/distinct personas, while useful for creative writing and worldbuilding the Lore of The Underground Club, was not enough. Something still felt missing. It was only after the realisation of Rebis and the idea to openly embrace every persona equally did I feel a true sense of togetherness. Like I was finally whole, for the first time in a while.

No doubt other personas will continue to be born as new experiences and passions enter my life. And they will be so graciously welcomed into The Perpetual Cabaret Players and The Underground Club, just as Juno has been.

On a final note of why I chose the word Juno ... when said aloud, it sounds an awful lot like "D'you Know?" As someone who enjoys a pun, that was too good an opportunity to miss.
